Welcome to National Institute of Co-Operative Development
The International Training Program on “Establishing & Strengthening Agricultural Producer Co-operatives” was successfully conducted from November 3rd to 6th, 2025, at the National Institute of Co-operative Development (NICD), Polgolla, Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Centre for International Cooperation and Training in Agricultural Banking (CICTAB), Pune, India. The Chief Guest at the inaugural session was Mr. K.A. Wimalenthiraraja, Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Co-operative Development, Sri Lanka, while the Distinguished Guest was Dr. Suva Kanta Mohanty, Director, Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management (VAMNICOM) & CICTAB, India. The program was attended by 37 participants from Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, representing government institutions engaged in cooperative development and cooperative organizations. It aimed to enhance participants knowledge and practical skills in establishing and managing agricultural producer co-operatives, thereby promoting inclusive rural development, sustainable agricultural practices, and regional collaboration.
