An awareness program on NICD academic and training programs for treasurers and secretaries of Estate Workers’ Housing Co-operative Societies (EWHCS) is being held by the National Institute of Co-operative Development (NICD), Polgolla, in partnership with the PHDT Hatton region. The workshop’s main objectives are to advance educational opportunities for estate workers’ groups and to promote cooperative governance. Before presenting a fundamental session on the history, concepts, philosophy, values, and organizational structure of Sri Lanka’s cooperative sector, this program offers opening remarks on strengthening EWHCS.Cooperative law, registration processes, bookkeeping procedures, and current EWHCS-specific operational difficulties were covered in the evening session.
